Looking Good at 50 or 60

Making the buttons for this 1950s chair was a nightmare fun because the fabric is so heavy.  But it all turned out great and is surprisingly very comfy.  It is very solid and has at least another 50 years in it.

Summer in the Shade

I found this cane chair at SVdP and couldn't pass it up.  With a coat of paint and new upholstery and pillows, it's going to make its home on my screened in porch.

Would somebody bring me a glass of wine, please?

A chair that folds is still a chair

My daughter lives in a Chicago studio apartment while she finishes up her PhD.  Space is as scarce as her time.  But a couple of conservation piece folding chairs keep visitor's butts off of the floor.
Gosh!  I'm such a fun mom, and I'm so cool!  Well, at least that's one person's opinion.  (mine)
This is just a quickie.  OK, not so quick in that I had to take 40 years of grime off of it in order to prep it for paint.  The paint and upholstery were the quick part.  It's for a repeat customer who love turquoise. The black piping keeps it from being too sweet.

And the Irish SCORE!

I have YARDS of this awesome, 100% wool, Irish tweed, that came from a thrift store!

Making it even cooler, it had a tag on it that read:
"Hand woven by me in my own cottage in Donegal, Ireland.
signed C. Keeney."
It looks perfect on this MCM stool.
Scandinavian style with Irish wool?
Does that make this "Scanish"?

An Ode to Spring

Four high school boys who were afflicted with spring fever skipped morning classes.
After lunch they reported to the teacher that they had a flat tire.
Much to their relief she smiled and said, "Well, you missed a test today so take seats apart from one another and take out a piece of paper."
Still smiling, she waited for them to sit down. Then she said:
"First Question: Which tire was flat?"
